One Chance directed by David Frankel

Last night my husband and I watched this beautiful inspiring movie. It is based on the story of Paul Potts and how he battled through difficult circumstances until he finally realised his dream. It is a light-hearted film that is clean, so great for anyone to watch, and it sends you on the journey of Paul's life. It reveals that dreams really do come true. But not in the Disney sense, in reality. It is mostly encouraging because Paul was an unlikely candidate, in most peoples' minds, to achieve what he has. But he worked on his talent and he succeeded because he did what he was good at, and he did it to the best of his ability. This proves that skills, talents plus hard work really do pay off. It's not always about who you know. I'm sure there are stacks of people for every Paul, who don't 'make it'. But his story really speaks of hope, determination and taking all the chances you are given. Even if at the time they do not seem to amount to much, they will pay off later. It is also lovely to see how much his wife believed in him and shows the power of supporting people around us.

Here is the trailer: Spoiler alert! It does show all the best bits.

This was Paul's first audition on Britain's got talent.

This is a lovely interview of Paul when he came to South Africa when he was here in April this year. I I couldn't put the clip here, but here is the link SABC News. It's so awesome hearing it from him.
