Music games for kids

It is amazing how certain musical games can seem so simple to us, but be so exciting for kids if age appropriate. They can find so much joy in throwing a beanbag to a beat while singing a song, or putting together a simple fish pictured puzzle after singing the song about a fish.

Over the last year I have been teaching two little ones, (one 4 and one 5) private music appreciation lessons. I have found it absolutely fascination teaching them, and my love for young children has also grown.

I am currently in a process of finalising this terms Jazz Kids. It will be a programme where a small group of children come together once a week and learn about various different aspects of music. The idea is to introduce concepts in a structured way, that is still exciting and fun for them.

The idea is that they are sharing 45mins of musical games that will teach them about music and help them to have good basics in place for future learning.

I for one am very excited to see little ones growing a love for music from early on.
