Music to my ears

Ever imagined a life without music? What would your favourite movie be like if there wasn't any music in it. Or conversely the impact of a silent moment in a film would be lost if there where no dynamic variations. Sometimes music can be overwhelming because it is too intense for our brains to absorb in one moment. Sometimes you only have to hear a song once in a shopping mall and it becomes an ear worm for the rest of the week. My husband and I often have conversations in song (but that's a story for another time) and at the moment I am examining students of all different levels who are trying to achieve well at playing music that has been prescribed for them to perform and to be marked. Everybody has different abilities in music, whether it's playing or singing or just someone who listens to music. Everybody relates to music differently and to different styles, but I'm pretty sure that (almost) everybody is impacted by music in some way.
