BAROQUE (music) - 2013 Challenge

My challenge for this year is two-fold.

1. I have to learn how to make 16 year-old girls interested in baroque music.
2. I have to brush up on my knowledge in order to teach the contents, make it appear that I actually know what I'm talking about and pass on this knowledge in a clear, concise way. (This in my mind is all one thing!)

The first challenge is hopefully not going to be as bad as I fear. The learners have chosen to study music at FET level, hence the interest will be somewhat greater than for teaching grade 9's, as I have done the last two years. I already know the girls and so I can focus on making awesome lesson plans...hopefully. On the plus side I believe Baroque jewelry is 'totally in fashion' now and will be a good way to draw in discussion of the period, as well as tying in awesome artworks... and of course the music in itself is beautiful.

However in this day and age, I must say I'm feeling slightly anxious for this year and need to do way more prep work than last year, so may include some things in future blogs.
